Up and down in week 7

So after Monday, usual fast day I weighed myself and to my horror I had gone from 12 stone 3 on Friday to 12 stone 5 3/4 on Tuesday!  I put this down to having a Friday night in the pub with the boys - bragging about how well the 5/2 was going!  So over the weekend I probably drank at least 10 pints of lager and cider and half a bottle of wine.

This meant an alcohol free week was required to try to rectify the problem (well almost). My Thursday fast day went a bit wrong as I had to collect my new banger rally Golf Gti from London so it turned into - a bowl of bran for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and a celebratory pint of cider followed by another bowl of cereal for supper!  Not ideal as a diet but when I weighed myself this morning I was 12 stone 2 1/4!

So my new diet will be cider!!

Into week 7

So I'm on my fast day...feeling a bit hungry but not too bad as it's nearly dinner.  The news from last week is that on Tuesday I had gained 1/4 lb and was back up to 12 stone 5lbs but by Friday I was down again, this time to 12 stone and 3lbs which I was very pleased with.  I stuck with the banana...soup...and chicken and roasted veg option again last week and I'm really enjoying the onions, peppers and courgettes roasted.  I've just been to my allotment and noticed the first baby courgette has started to grow so in 2 weeks or so hopefully I will be eating that!

Nothing else to report really apart from the fact that I feel thinner and my beer belly has definitely reduced.  I'm really hoping to be in the 11 stones by this time next week!

Into Week 6!

Forgot to update last week, guess it's just becoming a way of life for me....anyway I was passing the market in Newbury and noticed a sign saying 6 Sea Bass fillets for £10! So I bought them thinking that would be 3 meals for me and the other half but when I got them home they were disappointingly small so for supper we had 2 each of the smallest ones and they were absolutely delicious!  The rest was pretty usual - I had :-

Breakfast - Banana
Lunch - Veggie Soup
Dinner - Barbecued Sea Bass and roasted Mediterranean Veg - mmmmmmmmm

....and in the morning I weighed 12 St 4 3/4 - I do enjoy that lb number being lower each week, and having, I think, been pushing 13 stone 5 weeks ago I'm now pushing 12 stone - happy days!

I'm sleeping much better although the dreams are still pretty strange.  Last night I dreamed that I was an airline pilot and my son was on an early flying program and flying passenger jets at 12 years old.  He crashed somewhere in the world, we rushed off to see if he was OK only to find out that he had released the ejector plane, flipped it over and become a hero!

Today was the 1st fast day of week 6 and being in sainsbury's I decided to check out their soups and came out with a budget Veggie - looks just like tesco's and a chicken noodle soup which actually had less calories!

So here's what I've eaten today

Breakfast - Banana
Lunch - Chicken Noodle Soup (124 calories)
Dinner - Chicken with roasted veg

Although today has been very slow at work I've not felt hungry at all which is a good bit of progress.

Week 5 Day 1 -

If anyone is reading this for recipes then I guess I'm pretty boring as once again I ate:

Breakfast - Banana
Lunch - Veggie soup
Dinner - Chicken and roasted Mediterranean Veg!

One thing I've noticed is that, because I'm not having to digest food when I go to bed, I'm dropping off to sleep as soon as I hit the pillow but I'm having some bizarre dreams that wake me up in a cold sweat and by 4 in the morning I'm wide awake! I'm not the only one - I've googled it!

Oh and since last Friday I'm down another 1lb to 12st 4lb - oh and I've found that I get even more irritable in the late afternoons on fast days too!

Week 4 Fast Day 2 - 1 Month on!

So I've done the fast diet for a month now and have no inclination to quit quite yet.  I wanted to weigh myself again this morning before posting and the good new is I am losing weight, slowly but surely.  Last week I was 12st 6 1/2 - Tuesday 12st 5 3/4 and this morning 12st 5lbs - so little by little it's coming off.  I also seem to have found a bit of "get up and go", this week in my taxi everyone seemed to be saying the weather was making them feel tired and lethargic.  Not me I'm exercising occasionally and feel kinda good!  Tonight I ate sticky ribs, spicy chicken wings and 2 pints of my home brew Pilsner which is delicious and yesterday I had:-

The usual - Banana for brekky, Veggie soup for lunch and roasted Mediterranean veg with a breast of chicken for dinner.

When I felt hungry I drank water.

So the most difficult part of the diet days is boredom - if I'm busy it's easy, if I'm bored it can be quite hard but hey tomorrow I can drink a home brew!

Week 4 Fast Day 1

Nothing much to report really - getting into a bit of a routine now, and basically eating the same things twice a week.  As the weather was much colder I reverted back to the chicken for the evening meal and lots of roasted peppers and courgettes and a little bit of onion and garlic thrown in.  My twelve year old son want's to try and get a bit fitter so over the weekend we lifted some weights and did a couple of bleep tests (I kicked his arse)!  Tomorrow we may give the "couch to 5K" another go!

Today was again easy on the fast day, I ate the usual

Breakfast - Banana

Lunch - Vegetable soup

Dinner - Breast of Chicken and roasted Veg

On the less encouraging for the diet front I bought 3 home brew Lager kits, a cider kit and a wine kit in the wilkinsons sale!

Week 3 Fast Day 2

Again quite an easy day today and a change in the evening meal!  I haven't really felt too hungry today, reasonably busy as work which always helps.

Today was the hottest of the year, so far, about 25 degrees and so I decided to go and buy some fish to barbecue for the evening, I went for a white fish because it's lower in calories than oily fish, like mackerel, but not as tasty.  I bought a 2 pack of filleted Pollock and some green beans.  The beans were from Kenya and tasted of grass, nothing like the ones I grow, and so those won't be being bought again.  The fist was pretty nice but nothing like a mackerel so I will probably check the calories on those and have a change if the weather stays fine next week.

I also realised that the cost of feeding myself was about £2 for the day.  http://agirlcalledjack.com  may even be a little proud of that.

Breakfast - Banana

Lunch - Chicken soup

Dinner - Pollock and green beans

About 2 litres of water and a couple of cups of Earl Grey.
